The Ministry of Environment announced that it will hold a certificate award ceremony and a roundtable on the 17th for the 13 companies selected as Excellent Environmental Enterprises of 2023.
Since 2012, the Ministry has been designating promising environmental companies with outstanding business performance and technological capabilities through the “Excellent Environmental Enterprise Designation System” and providing various support.
The 13 selected companies by sector are as follows:
Climate & Air: Smart Power, EPIT
Water & Water Quality: BLUESEN, Samgeon Century, Samjin Precision, Seojin Energy, H-Coby, TurboWin
Resource Circulation & Waste: Daehan ENC, STARS Tech
Other Environmental Areas: Daeil ENC, Wonkwang S&T, GT Science
These companies were selected through a competitive process involving applicant presentations, on-site inspections, and review procedures, with a final selection rate of 3.1 to 1.
The designated companies will receive various benefits over the next five years to enhance their competitiveness, including support for promotional video production, participation in promotional pavilions for excellent environmental companies at domestic and international exhibitions, and additional points when applying for Ministry-led support programs.
Following the certificate award ceremony, the Ministry plans to hold a roundtable discussion to address industry challenges, including workforce recruitment and overseas expansion of environmental companies, and to explore possible improvements.
Jang Ki-bok, Director-General of the Green Transition Policy Office at the Ministry of Environment, stated,
“2023 marks the first year of nurturing the green industry, and this year’s designation of Excellent Environmental Enterprises is especially meaningful.
We will continue to enhance our support policies so that these companies can play a central role in leading the global green industry.”
