This initiative aims to improve the negative perception of tap water and increase its consumption rate.

The smart tap water dispenser is equipped with a built-in water quality sensor that monitors five key indicators in real time: turbidity, residual chlorine, pH level, mineral concentration, and temperature.

Water quality information is displayed directly on a monitor, allowing users to check the quality themselves before drinking.
If any of the measured values indicate the water is unfit for consumption, the dispenser automatically stops supplying water.

Park Jae-hong, Head of the Water and Sewerage Division, stated,

“Hapcheon County’s tap water is purified from safe and clean sources such as the Hwanggang and Gayacheon Rivers.
We hope the introduction of these dispensers will help shift public perception and lead to greater use of tap water.”
He added,
“We will continue to do our utmost to provide clear and clean tap water to our residents.”
